[fw1-gurus] Minimum OS for Linux and FW NG AI R55 to StoneBeat Full Cluster30

Hi all :

I am planning install two machines IBM intel with :
    OS : Linux
    FW : VPN-1/FW-1 NG AI R55
    High Availibity : stone Beat Full Cluster Load Balancing for Firewall-1
version 3.0 SP3-5.
and the console Smart Center over Window 2000.

In the SecureKnowlegde there are 3 solutions related but the solutions are
based in old kernels .
Questions :

1.- I would like to know if  Linux 7.3  is stable because now there is RH
9.0 and the default kernel is 2.4.19-20 and why have not checkpoint worked
with 9.0 yet -Solution 14576.

2.- When I install linux there are a option "Minmum Installation so there
are 472 packages : there is not graphical interface",  have you used  it
option  with NG AI and Stone Beat 3.0.

3.- When compile the kernel of linux I would like to specific that can
optimize the fragmentation with FW-1 , do you know what is the option
because in the paper "sk577" does not say nothing.Because I read a paper in
security focus two months ego that Firewall -1 NG  does not implemented
statefull inspection very well to ICMP Fragmentation and it can manage with
the TCP /IP Implemented of kernel of the OS, now I have not the paper.
