Re: [fw1-gurus] FW: Backup and Restore in WebUI does not work, HELP!!

Thank you very much Sergio. Now I know the –h switch can find all the parameters of a command.

Hello Mark,

If you do not specify anything, the backup file generated will be located in /var/CPbackups/backup (or something like that), but you have several options with the backup command, here is the syntax:

Backup syntax for SecurePlatform NG with AI R55 is as follows:

backup [-h] [-d] [--purge DAYS] [--sched [on hh:mm <-m DayOfMonth> | <-w DaysOfWeek>] | off] [[--tftp <ServerIP> [<Filename>]] |
[--scp <ServerIP> <Username> <Password> [<Filename>]] |
[--file <Filename>]]

-d    Show debug messages.
-h, --help  Show this help information.
-t, --tftp  Transfer the backup package to a TFTP server.
-s, --scp  Transfer the backup package to an SCP serve.
-f, --file   Specify the local backup-package filename.
-e, --sched  Configure the scheduled backup operation.
-p, --purge   Purge local backup packages older than DAYS.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Thanks Sergio. I just did the backup successfully using CLI. Is there a way to find out where the backup file is located, can I save the backup file anywhere other than the appliance, how can I find out the path of the backed-up file? Is there any switches for the backup command? I used Help Backup, and cannot find any extra info about switches.

I don't really know how to solve the WebUI issue, but in the mean time you can get your backups generated using the CLI, the command is just "backup" and to restore one of those you just need to use "restore <backup_file_path>".

Hi,

We have a UTM-1 570 appliance that the Version and Build is NGX R65 with Messaging Security 041 . When I click Backup and Restore in the WebUI, in the Scheduling area displays "Loading Please Wait..." and the message stays there for good, the sand-glass curser never changes.

What is the way to fix the problem please? Do I have to use CLI? If so, please give me some more info, I am pretty new to this.

TIA
